Frankly, I can't think of anything better than fall, at least not season-wise. What's not to love? It brings all the best things in life--giant pumpkins, changing foliage, crisp apples, sleeping under an extra thick down comforter with the window open. It's potato weather, too, at least in my house. We don't eat potatoes during the summer months, with the exception of a potato salad here and there as it's just too darn hot to turn on the oven. But not now; I'm in gnocchi heaven...and oven fries and mashed territory.
It's also good squash weather and I love squash--especially butternut and green pumpkin and acorn. And let's not forget all the things that you can use squash as a foundation for, like gnocchi and pasta and soups.
Today, I am posting a picture of my fall wreath that's hanging on my front porch and since the message is "Give Thanks", I decided to post about what I am giving thanks about and fall is at the top of my list.
